Practicing amidst genocide, wars, colonial continuities, ecological collapse, and the many forms of violence, exploitation, and disconnection shaping our present.
This world is saturated with pain, fear and sorrow. Beyond words.
Over the last few years, we have witnessed escalation after escalation of mass atrocities and genocides around the globe, in Palestine, in Sudan, in Congo, and in many other places. As a facilitator, a psychosocial counselor, I have tried to remain present and to sit with individuals and collectives to navigate through immense pain, grief and isolation. Yet, I often feel the heavy burden of knowing that no matter what I offer, it falls short of lifting the weight of chronic grief and pain from those affected by these immeasurable tragedies.
I am looking for connection. I am looking for a community of colleagues who understand this specific predicament: navigating our own pain as forced witnesses to genocide, while grappling with the inability to stop the harm done to the people we support.
I invite practitioners to come together. In the midst of this overwhelming reality, to choose connection over isolation. We rarely get the chance to empower, rest, and invigorate each other. Let’s create that space together.
If you feel called to join, please reach out to me. I coordinate a space where people can drop in to process together and discuss possibilities to act.
