Practicing amidst genocide, wars, colonial continuities, ecological collapse, and the many forms of violence, exploitation, and disconnection shaping our present.
Over the last few years, we have witnessed escalation after escalation of mass atrocities and genocides around the globe, in Palestine, in Sudan, in Congo, and in many other places. As a facilitator, a psychosocial counselor, I have tried to remain present and to sit with individuals and collectives to navigate through immense pain, grief and isolation. Yet, I often feel the heavy burden of knowing that no matter what I offer, it falls short of lifting the weight of chronic grief and pain from those affected by immeasurable tragedies.
I am looking for dedicated spaces with colleagues, who as well are grappling with the inability to stop the harm being done to the people, while collectively reflecting on how we can be present without individualizing or further reproducing colonial structures and continuities.
I invite practitioners to come together. In the midst of this overwhelming reality, to choose connection over isolation. We rarely get that chance. I hope we can get together and create that space together.
If you feel called to join, please reach out. I coordinate a space where people can drop in to process together and discuss possibilities to act.
